WHY MEMBERSHIP IS IMPORTANT TO YOU
- There appears to be a widespread effort to reduce and eliminate benefits for injured workers at the state
and federal levels.
- There is a huge inequity between organizations seeking to reduce worker benefits and due process
rights for injured workers vs. those groups that truly serve the interests of workers and their families.
- By sharing information on a nationwide basis, attorneys wishing to preserve or help improve the rights of
injured workers receive timely information and expert assistance:
- To improve the ability of individuals representing injured workers to respond
to misinformation presented to public bodies and the media;
- To provide for sharing of information on a cooperative basis between members
who handle workplace injury cases and reform issues;
- To assist state trial lawyers' associations and other state and local organizations.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is WILG?
The Workers Injury Law&Advocacy Group (WILG) is a non-profit association of plaintiffs' attorneys who support
the rights of workers and who advocate for the fair and just treatment of injured workers and their families. These
workers often need a law firm experienced in workers' comp to help them with their claims. WILG acts principally
to assist attorneys as well as non-profit groups in advocating the rights of workers and their families via programs
of education, information-gathering, and communication. WILG has over 600 workers’ comp attorney-members /
firms from around the United States as well as many non-profit organizations concerned with worker justice.
How do members of the public find a workers' comp attorney?
They can easily use the button "Find An Attorney" (you) at our workers’ compensation website: www.WILG.org
When does WILG meet?
WILG hosts meetings periodically throughout the year; at least one is in conjunction with an ATLA convention(s).
The WILG Annual Conference & CLE is held in April or May: an excellent opportunity for WC plaintiffs’ attorneys.
If you are interested in learning more about these meetings, go to www.WILG.org or contact the WILG office.
What is TrialSmith?
TrialSmith hosts our WILG ListServe: a free benefit offered as part of membership in WILG. TrialSmith also is the
service through which WILG staff selects and sends out "Eclips", an email service containing news stories about
workers' comp. Each "Eclip" offers a brief synopsis of a breaking story including legislation, agency actions, new
rates, recently-filed cases or decisions, employer or insurance industry propaganda, “political” stories on workers’
comp, etc.. Links are then provided so that you can go directly to the original article(s) for the full text.
For more information on WILG, click on Member Benefits at the top of the homepage. To find a colleague from your State (or any other location), click on the Find An Attorney button on the top left-hand side of the "home page" of this website.
